What are the differences in our base coats?

Rubber Base Coat
This base coat is designed to provide extra strength and flexibility to the natural nail. It's ideal for clients with weak or brittle nails, as it offers enhanced adhesion and durability for gel applications. Rubber Base Coat can be used as a base for BUILD & BOOST™ builder gels for those who need extra adhesion due to oily or very weak nails or hands-on occupations. It also aids in the soak off of BUILD & BOOST™ allowing the builder gel to pop away from the Rubber Base underneath.

It is important to note that this product contains HEMA and should not be used on clients with HEMA sensitivities.

Base Coat
This standard Base Coat serves as a great foundation for gel polish application, ensuring proper adhesion to the nail plate. Perfect for those with healthy, relatively strong nails that do not require extra adhesion or reinforcement.

It is important to note that this product contains HEMA and should not be used on clients with HEMA sensitivities.

Superbond Base Coat - HEMA Free
Specifically formulated for clients sensitive to HEMA, this base coat ensures strong adhesion and longevity without the inclusion of HEMA, Di-HEMA, HPMA, or IBOA. Superbond Base offers enhanced adhesion to the nail plate due to it's keratin bonding formula, so it is fantastic for those clients who are prone to lifting or have naturally oily nails. It's particularly recommended for use with our HEMA-free collections, including FLEX & BOOST™ HEMA free builder gels.

Base Coat - HEMA Free
Similar to the Superbond Base Coat, this HEMA-free option provides a solid foundation for gel applications, catering to clients with HEMA sensitivities. It's designed to work seamlessly with our HEMA-free gel products, ensuring both adhesion and durability. Base Coat - HEMA free is perfect for those with relatively strong natural nails that are not prone to lifting.

Rubber Base Coat HEMA Free

Offering the same great strength and durability but without HEMA and D-HEMA. Use as a base for BUILD & BOOST™ HEMA Free and SCULPT & BOOST™ hard gel.

Does BUILD & BOOST™ need a base coat?

BUILD & BOOST™ HEMA Free definitely needs a base coat due to it's lack of HEMA. We recommend Rubber Base Coat HEMA Free for a full HEMA free system.

BUILD & BOOST™ original formula can be used without a base coat but due to it's relatively low HEMA content (under 10%), we recommend using a Rubber Base Coat to aid adhesion and promote longevity - it helps with soak off removals too!

How do I know which BUILD & BOOST™ is HEMA Free?

Simply look for 'HEMA Free' in the product name.

What's the difference between SCULPT & BOOST™ bottled and pot formulas?

SCULPT & BOOST™ Bottled Formula:

  • 18ml bottle
  • medium viscosity
  • a stronger alternative to builder gel
  • self levelling
  • use for nail fixes
  • adds strength to natural nails
  • HEMA, Di-HEMA, HPMA & IBOA free
  • file off only
  • use with a Rubber Base Coat

SCULPT & BOOST™ Pot Formula:

  • 30g pot
  • very high viscosity
  • use to build high apexes, long extensions and reinforced free edges
  • maximum control formula
  • use for nail fixes
  • HEMA, Di-HEMA, HPMA & IBOA free
  • file off only
  • use with a Rubber Base Coat
Does SCULPT & BOOST™ need a base coat?

Yes. SCULPT & BOOST™ is a file off product so requires a soak off base underneath. We advise using Rubber Base Coat or Rubber Base Coat HEMA Free to add a protective base for removals and rebalancing.

Rubber Base Coat will also add a degree of flexibility to counteract the rigidity of the hard gel.
